Semperfli’s Flat Braid is a tough, versatile tying material suited to everything from small trout flies right through to big predator and saltwater patterns.
At 1.5mm wide, it ties in easily and can be used in a heap of ways: pull it tight for a narrow cord, twist for bulk, or fray it out for a spray of flashy or fluorescent fibres.
It’s brilliant for creating shimmering bodies under varnish or UV resin, and equally effective teased apart for tails, shucks, or streamer accents. A favourite for bonefish flies — especially Gotchas — it’s also easy to customise with permanent markers for barring or coloured backs.
Each spool carries about 4 metres (4.3 yards), so there’s plenty to work with.
