Scientific Anglers Sonar Titan Intermediate Sink Tip Fly Line

$199.95

When you need one line to do it all, this is it. Built on Scientific Anglers’ proven Titan taper, this line is designed to turn over big, wind-resistant flies with ease while still giving you the control and feel needed to fish effectively across a huge range of situations. The intermediate sink tip (around 2 ips) is the sweet spot — getting your fly just under the surface without killing your ability to pick up and re-cast quickly.

If you’re searching water, covering ground, or switching between species, this is the line you reach for.

Why we rate it

  • Ultimate all-rounder – intermediate sink tip gets your fly in the zone without sacrificing versatility
  • Effortless turnover – short, powerful head punches big flies into the wind and turns them over cleanly
  • Quick pick-up, fast recast – ideal for covering water efficiently from boat or wade

Description

The Sonar Titan Intermediate Sink Tip is one of the most versatile fly lines on the market and a standout performer in Australian conditions. Whether you’re stripping streamers for trout, working edges for cod, or chasing saltwater species like kingfish, this line just works.

The Titan taper is built heavy (two line sizes up) to load rods quickly and deliver big flies with minimal effort. That means less false casting, better accuracy, and more time fishing effectively. The intermediate tip sinks at just the right rate to keep your fly in the strike zone while still allowing easy line control and clean lifts for the next cast.

Compared to faster sinking lines, it’s far more forgiving and adaptable — making it the one line you can confidently fish across rivers, lakes, and inshore salt.

Who is this for?

  • Anglers wanting one line that can do almost everything
  • Fishing for trout, cod, bass, or inshore salt species
  • Anyone throwing streamers or larger flies
  • Boat or wade anglers who need efficiency and control

Not good in the tropics

Put the 6 wt full sink tip line on.
Used it in a 25-30 degree range.

Belly of the line is too thin and tangles terribly.
Total waste of money and its like its a colder freshwater line.

A great fly line

Easy to cast and a great sink rate for fishing over weed beds
