The key to the Hover is just how slowly it sinks. At 0.5 inches per second, the entire line sits beneath the surface film without quickly dragging your flies down through the water column. This is particularly useful when trout are feeding close to the surface and you want your flies to remain in that productive zone for as long as possible.
The 45 ft head is two line sizes heavy, giving it plenty of power to turn over long leaders and teams of flies while still allowing you to carry plenty of line for longer casts. Textured hang markers at 10 and 20 feet also give you a tactile reference when retrieving or fishing the flies close to the boat.
