The 5.5 ft Sink 2 tip sinks at 2 inches per second, getting your flies beneath the surface without dragging the entire fly line down with them. It's a great depth for fishing nymphs, emergers and wet flies when trout are feeding high in the water column.
With the tip sitting beneath the surface, it also helps anchor the line on windy days, reducing the influence of surface chop and helping you maintain better contact with your flies.
The long, heavy head is built for typical stillwater rigs. Being two line sizes heavy gives it plenty of power to turn over long leaders and teams of flies, while the 45 ft head provides the length to carry more line and make longer casts across open water.
