A heavy streamer, great for making a presentation lower in the water column.
This was designed to imitate the larger smelt and, to a lesser extent, cockabullies in the Mackenzie Country Lakes District here in NZ. I have often seen trout full of these. The general colour is like the real thing and the crimson hackle centre is reminiscent of the belly of a large smelt. A deadly fly on the lakes and it's become my favourite salt water pattern for NZ.
