Renomed the FlyTier Super Cut (Serrated)
If you tie a lot and you want one pair of scissors that handles nearly everything on the bench, this is the one to reach for. The FlyTier sits in the middle of the Renomed range at 10cm long with a 2cm straight blade, which is enough length for bulk work like trimming deer hair or cutting wire, but still fine enough in the tip for delicate detail work.
Two things set this model apart. The first is the SuperCut blade, which pairs a serrated edge against a razor edge. The serration grips the material instead of pushing it away, so slippery synthetics, wire, tinsel and tippet get cut cleanly rather than squashed or dragged. It also holds an edge noticeably longer than a standard blade. The second is the enlarged finger loops, which make a real difference if you have bigger hands or you tie for hours at a time. About Renomed
Renomed scissors are handmade in a historic granary in western Poland by a family business with 30 years of craft behind them. Our take
Most tiers end up with a drawer full of scissors and one pair they actually use. The FlyTier Super Cut is usually that pair. The SuperCut edge is the reason: once you have cut wire and synthetics with a serrated blade you will not want to go back. If you tie a lot of small dries and want something finer in the tip, look at the shorter Renomed models instead, but for a single pair covering trout, saltwater and everything in between, this is the sensible pick. Keep them for tying materials only and they will outlast most of the vices they sit next to.
