If you can see yourself mainly fishing rivers and streams for trout, choose the 9ft 5 weight. If you can see yourself mainly fishing larger rivers and lakes, choose the 9ft, 6 weight.

Combo should work

Reel is ok
I think the rod is ok
The line is awful - I have no option but to replace it and that is disappointing and brings the worth of the combo, in terms of utility and value for money, down significantly.
