The Raw uses Primal’s Compressed Carbon Chain technology, 64MSI Toray carbon, Ultra Light Helical Core and Amplified Nano Resin to produce a light, crisp rod with fast recovery and plenty of power. It loads easily for accurate presentations but still has the backbone to handle wind, heavier nymph rigs and longer casts.
The Lamson Liquid S 5+ is a great match, with a large arbor design and Lamson’s proven sealed drag system. It balances nicely on both the 5 and 6 weight Raw rods.
The outfit is finished with an Airflo Superflo floating fly line and Dacron backing. Everything is matched, spooled and ready to fish.
Which size?
The 9ft 5 weight is the pick for most trout flyfishers. It’s a great all round rod for Victorian rivers, Tasmania and New Zealand, covering dry flies, nymphs, indicators and general stream fishing.
Go for the 9ft 6 weight if you spend more time on lakes, regularly fish heavier nymph rigs or streamers, or want a bit more power for bigger water and windy conditions.
