The Superfine Graphite carries genuine dry-fly heritage, but it’s not a nostalgic throwback. It’s been refined using modern graphite construction so you get improved tracking and recovery without losing that smooth, progressive bend.

It loads beautifully in close — which is exactly where most of your dry fly fishing happens. Think pocket water in the upper Rubicon, a Kozzie dun hatch on the Mitta Mitta, or casting a CDC caddis on a Victorian freestone. The rod bends through the mid section, protects fine tippets and delivers flies softly without shock.

Compared to the glass version, the Graphite is a touch crisper and a little lighter in hand. It recovers quicker, forms slightly tighter loops and gives you a bit more control when there’s a breeze or you need to shape a cast under overhanging tea-tree. It still feels traditional — just a bit sharper and more precise.

This isn’t about bombing long casts. It’s about rhythm, control and fly placement.

Who Is This Rod For?

If you live for dry fly fishing — proper dry fly fishing — this is your stick.

Anglers who stalk rising trout on small to medium rivers. Those fishing light leaders, tiny dries and technical water where accuracy beats power every time. Anyone who wants a rod that feels alive in close but still has enough backbone when a good brown heads for the snags.

If you like feel but want a little more crispness than glass, the Superfine Graphite hits the sweet spot.
