Why a cassette reel makes sense

Rather than carrying multiple reels, you simply load each spool with a different fly line and swap between them in seconds. A typical setup might be a floating line, clear intermediate, Sink 3, and Sink 5, covering pretty much every stillwater situation with one reel.

It also works well if you fish different rod weights. Load the spools with different line sizes and the reel transfers easily between compatible rods, so you get more use out of one reel instead of buying a few.

Spool swap tip

Each spool comes with a rubber o ring. We recommend removing it, as it makes spool changes unnecessarily tight. When swapping spools, grip the outside of the plastic spool with your fingers and push your thumbs against the inner part of the metal, effectively pushing the metal spool off the plastic cassette. Keep the spools free of grit and dirt and they'll come in and out easily.
