Mag Grab Plus - Probably best for boat use?

I bought the Mag Grab Plus because I'm a sucker for gadgets and have always liked the infinite reusability of anything with magnets. Over the years I've used hat bands, sheepskin and foam patches to carry used flies and can't recall a time when I lost any flies carried in those ways. With the Mag Grab I lost all my flies (maybe 6 - 8 in total) on its first outing - probably because I mounted the thing in the wrong place and brushed them off while casting, but then again .... On the plus side it's quick and easy to use and, mounted on a boat or somewhere more thoughtfully selected would probably be a great asset. Just be careful how you place it - the grab is not infallible.
