Beech's Black Toad

$12.95

Beech’s Black Toad is a dark, high silhouette variation of the classic Tarpon Toad, tied for fish that like to track a fly, sit under it, then eat when it pauses.

Designed to suspend in the water column, this fly keeps moving without needing to be stripped hard or pulled out of the strike zone. That makes it especially useful around snags, timber, mangrove edges, drains and shallow structure, where barra, saratoga and jacks often need a slower presentation.

The black profile gives it a strong outline in low light, dirty water and tannin stained systems. It is also a very handy option for Murray cod, kingfish and tarpon, particularly when fish are looking for a bold, easy to track target.

Tied on a strong, sharp Gamakatsu SL12S hook and fitted with a nylon weed guard, the Black Toad is built for fishing tight to cover without constantly fouling up. Short strips, pauses and little twitches are the way to fish it.

A brilliant fly for sight casting to barra, tropical tarpon trips, snag work and any situation where predators want a fly that hangs in front of them.

Available in sizes 2/0 and 1/0.

Best for: Barramundi, saratoga, mangrove jack, Murray cod, kingfish, tarpon and tropical predator flyfishing.
