Vision Down Under Cod/Natives/Barra Outfit
The best outfit for throwing large, air resistant flies at a price you won't believe!
Available in both 9 or 10 weight.
For rivers or for casting cod flies that are on the small size, go the 9 weight. For impoundments and big predator flies, got the 10 weight.
These outfits come spooled and rigged with a hand-tied leader, ready to tackle whatever native species you choose to throw at.
If your fly is longer than two inches, you need a Down Under fly rod. The action is totally unique and you'll be amazed at how well they can punch out a big popper or streamer to our iconic freshwater fish.
Delivering large and air resistant flies deep into structure is typically what is required to get a strike from a barramundi or a Murray cod, and this is where the Vision Down Under rod really excels.
The Down Under is available in an 8’4″ 9-weight — a shorter length to suit those who like to fish in tight quarters — and a 9′ 10-weight for when you have the space to lay out a longer cast or are fishing from a boat.
The blank of the Down Under rod provides a powerful medium-fast action and is built with a blend of low modulus 24 ton and high modulus 38 ton graphite, keeping the weight down but staying strong with the power to turn a large fish away from heavy cover.
The green and gold colour scheme reflects the rod’s Aussie pedigree. Both models have full wells cork handles with comfortable cork/EVA fighting butt, complete with a Mimosa star from the Southern Cross.
Vision Deep Reel
These reels have a deeper arbor giving you plenty of capacity for your lines. They also have a reliable and smooth disc brake with easy and accurate adjusting. They are strong but still light in weight, thanks to the latest die-cast techniques and materials.
Scientific Anglers Titan Sink Tip
If you could choose just one line for our native fish and flats, the sink tip would be it. This is the most premium, high-performance line we could possibly select for this outfit and they load and cast beautifully through the Down Under.
