STILLMANIACS in mind, we designed this modern cassette reel to suit today’s stillwater fishing. The reel balances perfectly on our Stillmaniac rods but in addition to these it is a great choice for your pike or single-handed salmon rod, or for whatever fishing where you need several different types of lines. The cassette has a quick change system so you only need to unscrew the locking ring for half a turn, and you can pull it out. It also has a solid area where you can write with a marker pen the line which you have on it. The reel comes in a handy neoprene case with 3 cassettes and if you need more, they are available in moderately priced 2-packs.

NOTE: These reels are marked 7/8 size but they're ideal for anything 6-8 weight. The mass of them perfectly balances most 9'6"-10ft fly rods.

Vision Stillmaniac xlv 6/7 reel

Great system, but if you have a floating line loaded on one cartridge, and suppose you want to change to an intermediate line loaded on another cartridge, is it possible to change cartridges without winding the floating line fully in?
How is it done?

Love the reel. Larger arbour is great and the cassette system works well. Would be better if the cassettes had some sort of mindicator to line them up properly.
