Orvis Pro Wading Boots

by Orvis
$529.95

The most popular wading boot of all time and for good reason. Orvis teamed with Michelin to create the most grippy wet traction sole available. If good grip wasn't enough, the Pro features rugged durability in a lightweight boot.

Description

In an industry-first collaborative effort with Michelin, Orvis introduces the PRO Wading Boot. Built on an outsole compound specifically designed for fly fishing, this revolutionary new sole design is an industry disrupting advance in wet rubber traction. The Michelin Outdoor Extreme outsole offers 25% better abrasion resistance and a resounding 43% improvement in wet rubber traction. Using Michelin tire geometry, it offers a wider footprint for stability, a higher ratio of surface contact, and a lug pattern that reduces shock and improves pressure distribution. The two-layer midsole has a co-molded ESS plate that provides improved stud retention and torsional stability. The shock absorbing Phylon midsole improves “river feel” and compresses less than standard EVA midsoles. Orvis partnered with Ortholite to create a 3D molded X25 insole designed for high-impact sports, delivering maximum comfort and arch support. An industry first cast PU upper eliminates seams while providing a zoned cage for added stability, grip, and extreme abrasion resistance without the added bulk. The boot is higher cut for ankle support and lined with closed-cell foam. Scratch rubber at the toe cap and heel for abrasion resistance, an oversized heel pull for easier on-and-off, and tightly woven laces reduce broken laces

Best boots in the business

These boots are the goat. The last pair I had lasted two years and I fish 2-3 days a week and put serious kilometres into the boots. Can’t recommend these wading boots enough. Also shout out to the quick amazing service from the team at the Flyfisher.

Awesome

Super comfortable for all day walking.
Walked and waded about 7kms in theses on the first day I used them and the were perfect. No hot spots/blisters. Can't ask for more than that.

So painful i could not walk in them.

These felt comfortable in the shop. But on the river they were too restrictive. Basically they did not pivot at the ankle, trying to pivot up my calf. After two days i could not walk in them due to swelling in front of the shin and calf.
So i sold them after two days use.
On a positive the grip was not bad, but not as good as vibram sole.

Best rubber grip on the market, absolutely has the vibram soles from other manufacturers covered. Comfortable straight out of the box, no blisters or wearing in required, just get comfier as you wear them. 5 day mission straight out of the box and not a single complaint.
