Disappointed

Clicker stopped working first day on the river ......... not what I'd expect from Sage's premier lightweight trout reel.

Spectrum LT 3/4

Loved this reel initially. Lovely adjustable and repeatable drag, and spool very easy to remove on the river (unlike my Lamson ones). However, after a fairly solid 3 - 4 months of use, the ‘click’ stopped working when spooling. I wasn’t about to send it back for the cost of postage and lose a reel for a couple of months, so pulled it apart myself. There was a broken spring that loaded the ‘click piston’. A bit ordinary for a mid range sealed drag, but I love Sage and will give them the benefit of the doubt on a one off fail - I’ve got a Trout 2/3/4 which I assume uses the same drag system so we’ll see. Pity, loved the reel up until then. No reflection on TheFlyFisher at all, just didn’t think it was worth invoking the warranty and involving them - the purchase was timely and trouble free. If you’re considering this reel, worth checking the forums to see whether this is a common problem.
